at Elephant HavenIt’s hard to believe, but it has been a year since Champa arrived at Elephant Haven. Before being taken in by Wildlife SOS, Champa spent far too many years as a working elephant, and we are so pleased to be able to provide her with a comfortable retirement.

Here are a few details about Champa’s new life, as told by Baiju Raj from Wildlife SOS:

“Champa’s foot injuries are getting better and the treatment is going well. In fact, Bhola, Champa and Bijli walk together in the big field for hours. Also, the summer is back and she wants to be cool down in the pond, so the three of them will take baths together without any problem. Sometimes if Champa is not eating, the mahouts will bring Bhola near her to convince her to take her food without hesitation. We are proud of Champa and of her companionship with the other elephants in our care.”

Thank you for making it possible for us to care for these amazing elephants. We are so grateful!
