Asha is a female elephant aged approximately 46 years who had been used for elephant rides in Amber fort, Jaipur all her life. Once injured and unable to climb the steep trudge up the Amber fort she was sold to be a begging elephant. Rescued by Wildlife SOS in Febuary 2015, she is receiving necessary medical treatment for her injuries and foot care for her overgrown foot pads and cracked toenails. There is a lot of stiffness in her legs and our team of veterinarians is working on her arthritis. It’s been over two months since she was rescued and her journey to recovery has been remarkable.
Asha is settling in her new home very quickly and we are committed to helping her recover from the psychological trauma she has been through all these previous years. Would you like to help us provide the very best to Asha and fill her life with all the happiness?
