Shivani

Shivani

Shivani was just 3 months old when she was discovered from a sugarcane field in Belha Village, Maharashtra, in 2009. Possibly separated from her mother, or orphaned, the tiny helpless cub was alone, starving and unprotected when we brought her into our care. The day of her rescue, this unlucky cub lost a paw to an unfortunate accident- forcing her to adapt to life with just three limbs. But, under the dedicated care of the staff at MLRC, Shivani’s strong, fighting spirit helped her become the independent, amazing animal she is today.
Help us give this wonderful leopard a chance at a better life.

Jiya

Jiya was brought to Wildlife SOS after her mother succumbed to injuries incurred while hunting to feed the cub. Timid and scared during the initial days at the rescue center, it took quite some time for the cub to get familiarized with her new surroundings. Today, Jiya is a favorite among the senior vets and staff alike. She keeps busy grooming herself, sharpening her claws on a tree stump or simply walking around the enclosure, stalking imaginary prey. Would you like to help us provide for this beautiful wild cat?

Arjun

Arjun was an orphan found by a farmer in a sugarcane field in the croplands of Maharashtra. The Wildlife SOS team searched for his mother all around, but found no traces of her whereabouts. The little cub could not be released back into the wild as he was then hand reared and therefore severely imprinted. Today, Arjun is a handsome spotted cat who roams around in his enclosure through the night and as soon as the staff comes in he retreats to his indoor den where he naps till it is time for him to eat his evening meal.

GUL

Gul, almost sixteen years old is one of the most popular leopards at the Manekdoh leopard rescue centre in Maharashtra. Most visitors find Gul sitting on the platform, her favorite spot, observing all her fellow inhabitants at the rescue facility very closely. Gul was rescued in 2003, when she had strayed hunting for food in a landscape overpopulated with hostile humans. This spotted cat is most active in the early hours of the morning and she begins with her early morning ritual of climbing to this platform and stretching herself.
