POST DOCTORAL ASSOCIATE

Application Deadline: 10th Sept 2015

The Wildlife SOS and San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research seek a Postdoctoral Associate in Reproductive Physiology. Initial funding is for 3 years with the potential of extending up to 2 additional years for up to 5 years total.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates the activities of the assigned research projects and provides lead guidance to assigned staff as needed
• Develops grant applications and fundraises to assist in funding research activities
• Communicates effectively as part of an international team
• Submits regular research reports to Directors at WSOS and ICR
• Develops, administers and monitors assigned budgets as needed
• Recommends purchases of supplies and equipment; maintains equipment
• Submits regularly scheduled financial statements and provides accounts and receipts to Directors at WSOS and ICR

EDUCATION OFFICER

Job Location: Agra, Uttar Pradesh

Responsibilities:

  • Attend to visitors and volunteers
  • Maintain database of sponsors and donors
  • Plan daily and annual schedules of visitors and volunteers
  • Coordinate between headquarters, vets and staff
  • Plan and organize enrichment setup at rescue centers
  • Assist in rescue and release efforts
  • Give effective and clear presentations and orientation talks to visitors and volunteers
  • Plan and conduct awareness programs
  • Set up weekly, monthly targets and achieve them
  • Submit daily reports
  • Document & Maintain data to monitor progress of visitor & volunteer program
  • Arrange monthly meetings
  • Document visitors & volunteer through photos & videos for updating social media & website
  • Gather Video & written testimonials from visitors & volunteers
  • Manage the trip advisor and other relevant media pages to effectively market the program
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Skills and Experience:

  • Graduates with a degree in environmental or wildlife discipline/hospitality/hotel management preferred, but candidates from any course are welcome to apply
  • Passionate about wildlife and conservation
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to read, write and converse in both Hindi and English
  • Candidate must be able to withstand physically strenuous work
  • Ability to drive four wheelers and two wheelers will be an added advantage

Job Location: Delhi

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting updates on animals and blogs for the website.
  • Update social media presence, including content creation (facebook, twitter, youtube, blogs, photographs, videos)
  • Manage media repository & photo library
  • Drafting & posting press releases
  • Produce and design brochures, flyers, offline communication
  • Manage media relations, and public relations in general
  • Develop and manage promotional & PR strategies and awareness programs
  • Create reports and help with CSR initiatives.
  • Outreach

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working as a content writer/editor or as a communication officer
  • Excellent communication and both written and spoken English skills.
  • Efficient in handling events and public relations
  • Must be a good team player.
  • Knowledge of design software will be an added advantage
