ASSISTANT ELEPHANT CAMPAIGN MANAGER

Job Location: Delhi

Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop and maintain a database of captive and circus elephants in India
  • Oversee other elephant rescues from crisis situations including temples and begging elephants.
  • Coordinate paperwork with forest officials, circus owners and other relevant staff for circus and captive elephant rescues
  • Coordinate and oversee the development of all activities and outputs for the campaign
  • Coordinate logistics with field team for performing rescues. This includes mahouts, veterinarians, drivers, lawyers and communications team.
  • Oversee new elephant conservation/welfare projects as they develop.
  • Manage and stay within budget for projects – Ensure that the campaign budget is spent in accordance with procurement policies and invoicing systems as per organization norms.
  • Oversee the development of mahout training programs to help mahouts to have the knowledge and skills to be able to manage elephants humanely.
