Recently Wildlife SOS partnered with the Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital during the “Rotary Marathon-2010” to generate awareness and support for Tiger Conservation.

Kartick Satyanarayan, Co founder and Chairman of Wildlife SOS said “We were very impressed by the dedication of the Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences towards Tiger Conservation. Wildlife SOS had a stall at the Rotary Marathon event. We had a great time interacting with the students, parents and the staff of the institute. The interest, enthusiasm and the response from the crowd was more than we had bargained for. Every participant who has signed up to get involved will get an opportunity to be directly involved with wildlife conservation and nature protection work with Wildlife SOS.”

According to Dr Ashish Shetty, Organizing Secretary “This was the first-ever comprehensive workshop in the field of endodontic in the City. The 2-day event beginning September 14 was held at Nimhans Convention Centre in Bangalore. For the first time dentists across the country were sensitized to the concept of Eco Dentistry/green dentistry . The registered delegates went through a Marathon of workshops, all in order to raise funds and create awareness for 2 core environmental causes – GO GREEN and SAVE THE STRIPES.”

According to Geeta Seshamani, Co founder of Wildlife SOS “Funds raised from the event would go to support conservation and forestry efforts. Wildlife SOS also offers professionals like dentists, doctors, software professionals and people from all walks of life to get hands on volunteer opportunities working on conservation projects in the field.”

At the event Wildlife SOS Senior Veterinary Surgeon – Dr A Sha Arun made a presentation on the root canal surgeries carried out on tigers.

The objective of this unique workshop was to provide hands-on experience on the latest developments in root canal treatment methods with the use of state-of-the-art dental equipment while also focusing on promoting ‘Green Dentistry,’ an initiative to promote eco-friendliness in dentists as well as their patients.

Vice Chancellor of Banglore Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Dr S. Ramananda Shetty was the chief guest and Member of Parliament – Dr Jayaprada was the Guest of Honour at the event. Also present at the event was Founder of the Institute, Katuri Subbarao.
