Awareness and education has always been an integral part in the mission statement of Wildlife SOS. An aware citizen is better equipped in understanding conservation and protecting wildlife.

As part of our continued awareness drive Wildlife SOS in collaboration with the Zoological Society of Miranda House, Delhi University took part in  ‘SYNAPSE’ an annual fest of the society. The theme of the current year of SYNAPSE being wildlife, Wildlife SOS was invited to make a presentation on Reptile Conservation, Awareness and Protection.

The session presented by Wildlife SOS Project Coordinator: Rescue, Research and Education, Abhishek Narayan lasted for about an hour and emphasised the work of Wildlife SOS in the field of Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation in general and reptiles in particular. It was attended by students of B.Sc. Zoology and the department’s faculty.

The life specimens of reptiles were highly appreciated by the crowd and a lot of technical details were also discussed during the course.

“The enthusiasm and the presence of the students was very heartening. Even more encouraging was their interest and thirst to know more about conservation and the different species of wildlife that were under discussion. Educating the masses is the ultimate way of spreading awareness and sensitizing people. said Abhishek Narayan.
