His footpad is in a critical state and we are cleaning the footpad with antiseptic wash then applying medication to reduce the inflammation and covering the exposed sole ulcer. According to our vets, once the sole ulcer has dried a bit, we can consider cutting the detached sole pad but cutting the detached sole pad will expose it to external infection and increase the sensitivity in the area. This is a very delicate procedure and has to be done with utmost care and precision.
