The Elisabeth Lewyt Award for Disaster Management & Planning: Elisabeth Lewyt was a pioneer in the field of animal protection and understood the importance of involving private sector to take the message forward. Our co-founders have been bestowed with this award, twice, for their exemplary contribution in the field of conservation, in the dark times of natural disasters.
2009
First Planman Media Award for Environmental Activism: Wildlife S.O.S received the first Planman Media Award for Environmental Activism and the award was received by the Co-founder & Chairman Kartick Satyanarayan. The award recognized Wildlife SOS and its team for its contribution in the field of environmental activism and wildlife conservation including rescue and rehabilitation of Dancing Bears and the Kalandar community.
Karamveer Puraskar, ICongo Civil Society: The “KARMAVEER PURASKAAR (KVP)” was bestowed on the co-founders of Wildlife SOS for playing an exemplary role, being citizens of India, in bringing about social justice. The award recognises how people have gone the extra mile in being the unsung heroes and bringing about change in the society.

Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar Award– Kartick Satyanarayan: Wildlife SOS Co founder – Kartick Satyanarayan receives the prestigious Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar National Award for his outstanding contribution to wildlife protection, awareness & environment conservation from the Honourable Minister for Environment and Forests, Government of India.
2014
Limca People of the year Award- Geeta Seshamani: The Limca Book of records celebrated their 25th year of existence by honoring 25 women for their contributions to society. Our co-founder, Geeta Seshamani was one of the 25 women and she was honored for her contribution to animal welfare and conservation that has spanned a period of over 34 years.
2016
Wockhardt Foundation Human Rights Popular Award for Animal’s Rights Activist- Geeta Seshamani: The co-founder and secretary of Wildlife SOS, Ms. Geeta Seshamani, was honoured with the award for the perceptible change in its areas of operation to the lives of the underprivileged. Wildlife SOS provided over 1000 Kalandar families with alternative livelihoods, after their “dancing bears” were rescued and rehabilitated in rescue facilities.
2017
Certificate of Recognition,The Senate, State of California for Environmental Activism and Wildlife Conservation: Wildlife SOS co-founders were bestowed with the Certificate of Recognition by the State of California, USA, for their work in environmental activism and wildlife conservation ending the “dancing bear” tradition in India. Wildlife SOS rescued 628 dancing bears from the oppressive practice and rehabilitated them in rescue centres across the country.
The Jeanne Marchig Animal Welfare Award: Wildlife SOS co-founders Kartick Satyanarayan and Geeta Seshamani have been awarded the prestigious Jeanne Marchig Animal Welfare Award 2017 for their outstanding and tireless practical work over many years in the field of wildlife conservation, animal welfare and protection. Wildlife SOS was established in 1995 after Kartick and Geeta were inspired to start a movement to make a lasting change to protect and conserve India’s natural heritage, forests and wildlife.
2018
San Diego Zoo Global Conservation Medal for “Conservation in Action”: Wildlife SOS was honoured with lifetime achievement award at an event organized by San Diego Zoo Global. In the annual event, “Friends of the Animals” organised by the San Diego Zoo Global appreciated the measures and responsibilities of the organisation in order to ensure the safety of animals all over the world. the India-based Wildlife SOS.
2019
Maharana Udai Singh Award by the Maharana Mewar Foundation, Udaipur: Geeta Seshamani and Kartick Satyanarayan were honoured with Maharana Udai Singh Awards as recognition for over 20 years of incredible contribution to environment conservation and animal welfare in India. Their best- known efforts of two decades were to end the illegal and brutal practice of “dancing bears” across India. They collaborated to establish Wildlife SOS as a non-profit charity in 1995 to combat illegal wildlife trafficking and to stop poaching by working with indigenous communities.
Shining World Compassion Award by SMCH International Association- Geeta Seshamani: The award was bestowed upon Wildlife SOS cofounder and secretary, Ms. Geeta Seshamani, to recognise her caring, compassionate nature in the field of activism and conservation. People like her extend themselves beyond the call of duty to help others unconditionally and it is through their noble deeds, humanity as a whole is elevated.
