We’re shining a light on a few of our Ele Earth Walk participants each month until the race kicks off on September 20, 2024. This virtual event helps bring awareness to the plight of elephants and helps raise funds for rescued eles at Wildlife SOS. Joining thousands of other supporters across the globe, Tabatha is training for her 5K in Colorado Springs USA. We were able to catch up with here to ask a few questions.
What do you love most about running virtual races?
I think that virtual races are awesome. As a participant of a virtual race, I enjoy the flexibility and convenience that this type of race offers. It allows an individual the opportunity to participate at one’s own pace and athletic ability.
What is your motivation to sign-up for the Ele Earth Walk?
I am a long-term supporter of Wildlife SOS. In January of 2023, I joined the Wildlife SOS Founders Trip to India. I enjoyed spending time with the animals and staff, and becoming familiar with the operational component of the organization. As a result, I am eager to participate in all fundraising activities.
What do you love most about the work of Wildlife SOS?
I love that Wildlife SOS is a multifaceted organization that actively supports the environment, wildlife, and tribal communities of India.
Do you have a favorite animal at Wildlife SOS?
I love all of the animals at Wildlife SOS!
Do you have a favorite place to run?
I enjoy running and training in Mountainous terrain. The trails offer ample wildlife sightings and are appropriate for hiking, biking, running, and equestrian access.
Thank you Tabatha! Good luck with your 5K at the Ele Earth Walk. If you’d like to join them and so many others on the virtual run/walk just go to wildlifesos.org/elewalk
We’ll see you at the (virtual) finish line!
