11 year old Rengu is one of the most simple and quiet bears at the Agra Bear Rescue Facility (ABRF). He spends most of his day sleeping under the sun in pits and burrows all around the field and only departs to his den during mealtimes. He was 5 years old when he was rescued from the hands of his cruel Kalandar owner and was underweight and underfed. Because of his scarred past, Rengu is partially blind but that does not stop him from being a warm loving bear.
Now Rengu is 71 kgs and living a happy, healthy life. He usually prefers being by himself and sometimes enjoys the company of Nandi bear with whom he shares a close bond. Of late he has become more possessive of Nandi and he now dislikes anyone coming near her and sometimes bullies the other bears who are trying to play with her. He loathes Bobby bear in particular because, naughty as he is, Bobby enjoys troubling Rengu and Nandi and keeps meddling in their activities.
Rengu’s favorite activities involve playing with the hammock and climbing platforms. He shares a good relationship with his keepers and is usually the first to respond when called. He is not fussy about his meals but relishes dates and melons the most.
