The Dachigam Rescue Centre was established by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and the responsibility for the upkeep of the rescued/abandoned bears was bestowed upon Wildlife SOS in 2007. The centre at Dachigam currently has four Asiatic black bears and one Himalayan brown bear. The centre is located at the foothills of Dachigam National Park and serves as a great pleasure for the visitors and students from the educational institutions. The facility creates positive impacts such as raising awareness among the people about bears which is helpful in mitigating human-bear conflict and the important role bears play in maintaining ecological balance. The topography of the centre and a large number of huge trees inside the spacious enclosures give the resident animals a perfect environment to camouflage and retain their wild behaviour.

The main objective of interactive sessions is to sensitise the visitors on nature conservation. The live depiction of bear behaviours also helps to negate the various misconceptions people have regarding bears.
