A Famous Kashmiri Proverb “Aan Poshe Tale,Yalee Waan Poshe”(Food will last if Forests Shall).
The environment faces a multitude of challenges today. From climate change to species extinction, our planet and its inhabitants are continually facing man-made threats that must be averted. Keeping the same in mind, Wildlife SOS in association with the school authorities of Rainawari Girls Higher Secondary School and Soura Boys Higher Secondary School planted saplings in their school campuses as part of the ongoing awareness programme in the state.
The saplings were planted around the fencing of the school and in the school lawn. School officials and the students participated in the drive. The main goal of the event was to reiterate the importance of trees for maintaining balance in the ecosystem.
Wildlife SOS urged the students to create awareness about the importance of green cover in maintaining eco-balance. The effects of the ecological imbalance in shape of Man wild animal conflict was explained to the students and the role they can play to reduce it by planting fruit bearing trees in the catchment areas of the forests.
