On 1st November 2014, the Bangalore Bear Rescue Center was buzzing with volunteers from Tech Mahindra, Bangalore. The enthusiastic team of 23 individuals helped our Bangalore team digitize individual files for the bears, which would enable our veterinary staff to gain easier and more systematic access to their information.
The group arrived in the morning and wanted to understand Wildlife SOS’s activities and reach. Mr Pratyush Rao-Education Officer, Wildlife SOS gave a talk on the work, the organizational goals and related activities of Wildlife SOS. Following this, he took the team for a tour around the center including the office, laboratory, enrichment room, well equiped operation theater and the green bear kitchen. In order to better understand the Mission and Goals that drives Wildlife SOS, a short video about Wildlife SOS’s rescue efforts was played. They had a chance to glipmse the bears close ups, when they fed fruits and placed enrichments in the forested areas and watched them foraging and sunning themslves on their platforms.
The entire team was thrilled to see the animals enjoying themselves and promised to visit the center again. The Tech mahindra group went back home with some special memories and souvinirs, we hope to see the group again soon with more volunteers. It was a great experience for Tech Mahindra as well as Wildlife SOS!
