A regular volunteer at Wildlife SOS’ Bannerghatta Bear Rescue Centre in Bangalore, Ms. Sonu Yadhav’s passion for wildlife conservation and her unwavering support of Wildlife SOS’ efforts in this field are well known among the staff at BBRC. Ms. Yadhav took her involvement in the organisation a step further, by organising an awareness program for Wildlife SOS at the Central Reserve Police Force campus in Yelahanka, Bangalore, thereby providing Wildlife SOS with a platform to inform people about the work we do and encourage and motivate more people to step up and make a difference to the environment.
Held earlier this month, the program was a great success and achieved all it had set out to do. Attended by CRPF staff members and their families, in the presence of the honourable chief guests for the event- Mr. B.S. Gujral, DIGP GC, Bangalore; Shri P.C Ghag, DIGP Taralu range and Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Commandant GC Taralu range.
After a warm welcome was extended to the team that had come down from BBRC, the program commenced with an engaging talk by Dr. Arun A. Sha, Director of Veterinary Research & Operations at Wildlife SOS, accompanied by a presentation on Wildlife SOS’ journey so far.
Everyone attending the event seemed enraptured by the presentation, enjoying the beautiful pictures of our rescued animals while listening to their heartwarming stories of rescue and rehabilitation. The talk was a great learning experience, and younger members of the audience too seemed captivated by all Dr. Arun was saying, and were seen scribbling down notes and excitedly discussing everything he had talked about.
The event was a great success and the encouraging response we received in terms of adulation, queries and enthusiasm to visit or volunteer at our rescue centres, left us with assured that we’d succeeded in spreading our message of conservation further.
