It was an exciting day at the Friendicoes SECA shelter in Gurgaon, Haryana as a team from Accenture came to work as volunteers at the shelter for animals. The eager team consisting of 16 volunteers arrived in the morning and were greeted by Dr. Abhishek, Senior Veterinarian, and the Wildlife SOS and Friendicoes staff present there.
Following this, the staff took the team for a tour around the shelter and interacted with them answering their questions about the organization and its works. They had a gala time playing with the cats, grooming the horses and feeding baby donkeys. The animals were extremely friendly and enthusiastically met all the volunteers.
The team even visited the WSOS facility in Gurgaon right adjacent to the Friendicoes shelter, where they were fascinated by the large variety of birds residing at the shelter, undergoing treatment like emus, peacocks, kites, pigeons etc. Many of the Accenture team members even stepped forward and donated towards the well-being of the animals.
The entire team promised to visit the center again with a larger group next time and went back home with fresh knowledge about the hardwork that goes behind rescuing and rehabilitating animals. It was an exhilarating experience for the Accenture team as well as for Wildlife SOS and Friendicoes. We hope to see them again real soon!
