On October 12, 2019, Wildlife SOS founders Kartick Satyanarayan and Geeta Seshamani were joined by over 150 wildlife supporters for the 3rd Annual Tusk After Dusk. The event took place at the marvelous and historic Sowden House in the heart of Hollywood. With the help of our amazing host, Jane Velez-Mitchell (CNN, Jane UnChained), we were able to raise over $50,000 in support of Wildlife SOS!
The guests of Tusk After Dusk were treated to authentic Indian vegan cuisine, ele-inspired cocktails, and spectacular entertainment. A smaller group of VIP guests enjoyed a special tour of the famous Lloyd Wright home along with a catered wine tasting from the Boisset Collection.
The talented Amy Burkman was back again for the second year to stun the crowd her live-painting performance and the art work was promptly auctioned to the highest bidder – helping to raise more funds for India’s wildlife. Following Amy’s performance, Wildlife SOS cofounder Kartick Satyanarayan spoke to the guests about our recent successes. He also talked about the challenges still facing India’s elephants and how Wildlife SOS is taking action.
Closing us out for the night was a grand piano musical performance by Rex Dean.
Special thanks to our sponsors Canna-Pet, Boisset Wine, and Tito’s Vodka.
A very special thanks to our host Jane Velez-Mitchell (CNN, Jane UnChained) and the host committee comprising of Katie Cleary (World Animal News), Lori Alan (Toy Story 4), Lesley Nicol (Downton Abby), Kate Vernon (Battlestar Galactica), Carolyn Hennesy (General Hospital), and Fia Perera (HBO).
We couldn’t make this happen without the support of our volunteers Kim Durr, Ariane Gogny, Sari Stenholm, Averi Ludwig, Shelby Maughan, Christina Wu, and Jenna Lee.
Last but certainly not least, thank you Jenny Landers and Dan Goldfarb for your generosity and allowing our guests into your home for this wonderful event.
