The Infosys team visited the Bannerghatta Bear Rescue Centre, Bangalore to celebrate World Environment Day with Wildlife SOS. They visited the centre during morning hours and wanted to understand Wildlife SOS’s activities and reach. The team was headed by Suja Warriar and consisted of 20 people along with 5 junior volunteers. The team started their day with tour of the center and then indulged in fruit feeding where they thoroughly enjoyed themselves chopping-up fruits and serving the bears. They also interacted with the Wildlife SOS team, familiarised themselves with the green kitchen and the eco-friendly cooking done on-site, together with the sanitation protocols followed and daily routine of the staff as they cared for the bears. They then realised it was indeed a great deal of work to keep the bears stimulated and active through various enrichments.
The team also went for entire BBRC tour to see different types of enrichment’s, enclosures and the office area. The Infosys team had active energetic photographers who captured the memories of their visit to BBRC. Dr. Arun, Director- Research and Veterinary Operations, gave a talk and explained to the whole team the organisation’s role in conservation of wildlife and bears in particular.
