Wildlife SOS Co-Founder, Kartick Satyanarayan was recently invited to participate at the RoundGlass Samsara Festival in Bangalore hosted by celebrated Grammy ® Award winning Music Composer and Conservationist Ricky Kej. The week-long International festival aimed at drawing attention to the rising ecological crises. The Festival focused on creating a dialogue surrounding Climate Change, Conservation and promoting Environmental Consciousness.

Brainchild of Ricky Kej, the fest also intended to create public awareness, educate, inspire and inform people from all walks of life about India’s rich Bio-diversity and how man and nature must learn to coexist and work together towards a sustainable future. The festival included summits, art and photography exhibitions, and a film festival along with a gala music concert, all with the theme of ‘Environment’.

Kartick Satyanarayan was invited to speak at one of the summits at the Vidhana Soudha, the center of power and democracy in Karnataka and the state legislative assembly, to spread awareness about wildlife conservation efforts in India. He also presented at the National Institute of Advanced Studies the following day. Kartick spoke about the out of the box attempts by Wildlife SOS to convert poachers into protectors and how this model can be emulated across the country by various state forest departments and other conservation agencies. He stressed on realizing the significance of the unbreakable bond between human beings and nature where damage to one will undeniably have its repercussions for the other.

The summit saw global change makers, thought leaders, legislators, environmentalists, scientists, artists, industry leader and innovators coming together to discuss and inspire ecological balance and wildlife conservation efforts. Environment and Conservation themed Films from all over the World were showcased in the Film Festival. The festival also witnessed a mega musical concert by Ricky Kej along with over 200 musicians from all over the world including award winning musicians from USA, Ghana, South Africa, Vietnam, Tibet etc.

Wildlife SOS was extremely honored to be part of the Samsara Festival and for the opportunity to deliver a lecture at the Vidhan Soudha. It is the need of the hour to encourage positive environmental action by inspiring people to take active participation in working to improve and protect it. If we can create more compassion and love for nature and wildlife, then there will be a greater understanding of co-existence.
