9th January, 2015 was a lively day at the Bannerghatta Bear Rescue Center, Wildlife SOS’s center in Bangalore for sloth bears. Student interns from Infosys International in Australia had come for a visit. The enthusiastic team consisted of 10 members including two team coordinators.
Their beautiful day started with
a visit to Udige Bande, a view point in Bannerghatta from where one can have a panoramic view of the Bannerghatta National Park. The day got better as they headed out to BBRC for a tour around the center. Dr. A.Sha.Arun, Director- Research and Veterinary Operations, was the team’s guide and gave a brief speech on the health issues of our bears and the resources utilized in their treatments at BBRC. Following this, he took the team for a tour around the center while explaining the aims and goals of the organization for wildlife conservation. The interns had an opportunity to meet the animals and enjoyed feeding fruits to them, watching them playing around or resting under the shade of a tree.
The entire team promised to visit the center again with a larger group and went back home with a mind filled with knowledge and some special memories. It was an exhilarating experience for both the Infosys team as well as Wildlife SOS. We hope to see them again real soon!
